Our
Foundress
Blessed Marie Rose Durocher
Eulalie Durocher was born in Quebec on
October 6, 1811 in the little village of St.
Antoine on the Richelieu River.
In 1843, she moved to Longueuil where she
founded a Congregation of women religious dedicated
to education.
After six short, full years as Superior and
Foundress of the Congregation of the Sisters of the
Holy Names of Jesus and Mary she died on October 6,
1849.
She was beatified by Pope John Paul II on May
23, 1983 because she was recognized by the Church
as a woman for all times
